MindTaffy's 3D Screensavers are a valuable branding tool for our clients. The KDS branding screensaver seen below was created in the early 1990's using Autodesk 3D Studio software. Mind Taffy artisans modeled the Visual Sensations and KDS logos in 3D for the KDS Visual Sensations branding campaign, dissolving the VS logo into the KDS logo via a "visual sensation." As you can see, it is still a viable screensaver.
Screensavers provide brand marketers with a "viral" way to spread their message, via one of the most traded electronic file types: The .SCR File. When placed in the main Windows directory, the SCR file shows up on a list of installed screensavers in the display settings dialog. Since the late 1990s, Windows screensavers have also used OpenGL, a real-time 3D rendering technology. OpenGL allows the interactive programming of anything from product animations to interactive objects to i3D games or presentations, and thus "bleeding-edge" branding campaigns can be created as compelling interactive 3D [i3D] screensavers.
IcedGreenTea.com brought in Mind Taffy artisans to create a series of cool, interactive 3D screensavers that promoted it's new brand identity using realworld physics, particle systems and i3D functionality.
Ride-Guide.com approached Mind Taffy artisans to model their new 3D logo (from a napkin sketch) and then create an impactive 3D screensaver that promotes the website's new logo as well as it's brand identity.
